| Form Tomorrow received its 501(c)3 not for profit status in 2007. The organization was conceived by local architect, Peter Stempel as a way to move beyond the polarized debates that characterize the West. Stempel’s participation in Vision Dixie - Washington County’s recent visioning process - convinced him that local communities need “nuts and bolts” support. For years, Stempel’s own company, Stempel Form PC Architects has provided pro-bono assistance to persons and communities in need. It was natural to expand those efforts into a bona fide non-profit.
In June of 2008, Form Tomorrow hired Elissa Black, a planner with roots in the Hurricane Valley area of Utah. Having spent a sizable portion of her youth in Southern Utah, she has a passion for the people and the place. In its effort to encourage collaboration and exchange of resources between the citizenry, and local, regional and state governments, the organization has partnered with the Washington County (UT) government as well as the regional planning agency for Southwest Utah, the Five County Association of Governments (FCAOG). |
